A call
on my mobile
is received
in the evening.

It is a friend
who has been missing
for some time.

As soon as I see
her number,
my spirits lift.

We talk
for a little while,
her battery is low.

How nice
to touch base,
what a delight
it is.

Alas,
technology
lets us down,
our call is ended.

A smile
on my face,
my day
feels lighter.

Thank you
for bringing
sunshine to my day.

A gift from one,
cherished by another,
what a wonderful world
we live in!
