A life
loved,
a life
lived,
until
death
do thee
part.
For
some of us
it comes
too soon.
For
others
it does not
come
soon enough.
A paradox
of
wish,
want,
need,
reality.
The spate
of deaths
of
high profile
people
touches
all of us.
Our own
mortality
is
given
a reality
check.
What was,
what is,
what may be,
all questioned.
Is it
created
by an
awareness
of others
around us?
Is it
a lack
of certainty
in
our worth,
our role,
even
our lives?
Is it
the Universe's way
of
reminding us,
that we are
only here,
for
a finite time.
In realising
that finiteness,
some of us
live life
to the full.
Cramming
as much
as we can
into every
living moment.
Overdrive,
over-achieve,
over-done,
over-cooked.
Oops,
may be
too much
is not
such
a good thing
after all.
Yet,
in death,
there is
one thing
for sure.
And
unlike
what others
might say,
about
its finality,
it is,
for me,
honesty.
For
a life
lived
in
honesty,
is
remembered
and
revered,
in perpetuity.
The contrary
is
also remembered,
for all of
the wrong reasons.
Life,
living,
being,
honest.
Can
you meet
that test?
How
are you
going
to be
remembered?
Revered
or
reviled?
In death,
there is
honesty.
The rest
is
up to you.
