The first person
that you see
in a hospital
is
a nurse.
The person
who comes
to your bed
in the middle
of the night
is
a nurse.
The person
who cleans up
the mess
after
you throw up
is
a nurse.
The person
who will
be there,
in support,
at your
darkest moment
is
a nurse.
The person
who is
the backbone
of
our entire
medical system
is
a nurse.
The person
who cares
for you
by day,
by night,
every day
is
a nurse.
The person
who tends
to your wounds
is
a nurse.
The person
who is there
always
is
a nurse.
So,
on this day,
International Nurses’ Day.
Let us all
pause,
honour,
appreciate,
and
applaud
the nurses
of our world.
The people
who make
a difference
in the lives
of everyone,
every day,
always.
